Baby Turtle Raku Keepsake

Small turtles are worked into the glaze of this raku-fired keepsake, which stands 6.5 inches tall on a 5.5-inch square footprint. Raku pots are pulled from the kiln while still glowing and smoked, so the crackle and the metallic cast land differently on every one; the piece that arrives will not match the photograph exactly.

Capacity is 40 cubic inches. That holds a real share of an adult's ashes rather than the whole set, since a full adult needs roughly one cubic inch per pound of body weight, and it holds all of an infant or a pet up to about 40 pounds. The lid lifts off the top, and the urn is built for indoor display.
