Big Bear Raku Keepsake

Hikers, hunters, and people whose weekends were spent outdoors are who this one tends to go to. A bear is worked into the raku glaze on a round 5-inch body, and the smoke-fired ground behind it comes out of the kiln different every time, so the piece you get is genuinely its own.

The urn holds 60 cubic inches and opens at the top. That is a share of an adult's ashes rather than the full amount, since the rule is roughly a cubic inch per pound of body weight, or all of a dog up to about 60 pounds, which is why a fair number of these are bought as pet urns. It belongs on a shelf indoors.
