Bison Raku Ceramic Keepsake

Bison stand in relief around the body of this ceramic keepsake, the herd broken up by the crackle of the Raku glaze. Raku pieces are pulled from the kiln hot and cooled in the open, which is what produces the smoke marks and the fractured surface. Five inches tall and five inches across.

Sixty cubic inches is roughly a third of an adult's ashes, which is why these are usually bought two or three at a time when a family is splitting a set between relatives. Alone, the capacity covers a child or a pet up to about sixty pounds. The ceramic is not suited to being buried.
