Celestial River Raku Urn

Raku firing gives each of these urns a surface no other one has. The pot comes out of the kiln glowing and is cooled fast, which crazes the glaze into a fine web of lines and draws smoke into the clay. What you receive will be close to the photograph but not identical to it.

It stands about 8 inches tall and 7.5 inches across, sized for an adult, and the lid lifts straight off the top so the bag of ashes goes in whole. Fired ceramic of this weight belongs on a shelf, a mantel, or a niche with a solid base. It is not made to be buried.
