Capacity is about 1/4 cubic inch, a keepsake portion and not a full set of ashes. The closure is a screw top, the more secure of the two common designs and worth choosing if the piece will be worn every day rather than kept in a box. A jeweler can seal the threads with adhesive to make it permanent.
