Cerulean Marble Urn

Cerulean Marble carries a blue-toned marbled finish over an aluminum body, on the same 12.5-inch vase profile with an 8-inch shoulder. The color is cool and lightly veined rather than flat, so the surface picks up lamplight instead of sitting dull against a wall. It loads from the top.

At 228 cubic inches it takes the ashes of an adult up to about 228 pounds, with room to spare for most people. Top loading means you lift the lid, set the bag inside, and replace it, which is easier if you are filling the urn at home rather than having the funeral home do it. Aluminum keeps the weight down for a piece this size — it matters when the urn is going onto a floating shelf or into a niche.

• Optional engraving is added to your order on this page as a paid personalization
• Wipe with a soft dry cloth; household cleaners can mark the finish
• Marbling is a finish over aluminum rather than cut stone, which is why it lifts so easily
