The base opens for filling. Sizing runs on body weight, roughly one cubic inch of interior for each pound your pet weighed, so this size lands in medium-dog territory: a beagle, a corgi, a large cat. If your dog was at the upper end of that range, ask us to confirm the interior volume before you order rather than judging it from the outside.
