Gleaming Dove Brass Urn

Two doves in flight are set into the front of this polished brass urn, a motif families reach for when they want something gentle without a religious symbol attached to it. The rest of the body is left plain and bright, and the lid is a simple dome that lifts straight off the rim.

Inside, 220 cubic inches is enough for an adult who weighed up to about 220 pounds. The urn measures 6.5 inches square and stands 10.5 inches tall. That footprint suits most standard niches, but niche depth is the measurement people forget, so check it against 6.5 inches before you order rather than after.

• Dove relief covers one face, leaving three sides plain for engraving
• Top-loading lid, no screws and no gasket to replace later
• Filling can be done with the crematory bag left sealed, which most families prefer to pouring
