Pewter-finished brass reads grey and matte rather than yellow, which is why this one suits families who find polished metal too bright. The body underneath is brass; the pewter is the finish applied over it. Two inches square, 3 inches tall, plain sided, with the opening at the top.
The chamber takes 4 cubic inches, a small share of ashes rather than the full amount from an adult. It is sized for a shelf at home, a shelf inside a columbarium niche, or a drawer where it stays private. The threaded lid comes off completely, so you can see what you are doing while filling it.
