Stainless steel takes a polish that stays bright without plating, which is why it turns up so often in keepsakes that get handled. This one is a small vessel meant to sit on a nightstand or inside a drawer rather than on a mantel. The surface is plain, so an engraved name reads cleanly against it.
A keepsake holds a token portion only. It is not sized for a full set of adult ashes, and families usually buy one or several alongside a full-size urn so each sibling or child has something of their own. Steel will not tarnish the way silver does, so it can be picked up and set down daily for years without changing color. Some owners keep a lock of hair or a pinch of earth in theirs instead of ashes.

Engraved pieces work to the same cutoff, with one difference: the clock starts when you approve the engraving proof, not when you place the order. If your service date is tight, tell us and we will flag it.
