October w/ Opal Sterling Silver Keepsake

Opal behaves differently from the cut stones in this range. It is not faceted, so instead of sparkle you get a milky body with colour moving under the surface, and it is a softer stone that wants a little more care than the rest. October is its month. The setting is a round sterling silver disc about an inch across.

A screw in the rim opens the chamber, which takes a token portion of ashes and nothing close to a full set. Because opal can be marked by heat and by household chemicals, take the pendant off before cleaning, gardening or anything involving bleach. Ordinary daily wear against skin and cloth does it no harm at all.
