September Blue Silver Keepsake

Deep blue marks September, and the stone at the middle of this round silver pendant carries that colour against a plain metal face. The disc is five eighths of an inch across. Darker stones like this one hold their look better than pale ones as the silver around them dulls with age.

Silver worn every day will pick up fine scratches and a warmer tone within a year. That is normal, and a jeweler's cloth brings it back in a few minutes; do not use abrasive polish near the stone. Inside is room for a token portion of ashes or a lock of hair, well under a cubic inch, which is a keepsake measure rather than a full set.
