Tree Biodegradable Companion Water Burial Urn

A tree motif is set into the face of this companion urn, which is built from biodegradable material made to break down in water or in soil. It is wide and shallow rather than tall: sixteen inches long, fourteen across, four deep, with the opening on the side so it can be filled without disturbing the top surface everyone will be looking at.

Capacity is 480 cubic inches, enough for two adults with a combined body weight of about 480 pounds, or roughly 240 pounds each. Placed on the water it floats for a few minutes, long enough for people on the shore to watch, then takes on water and descends on its own. For a green burial it can go straight into the ground instead, with no liner or vault required.
