Turtle Raku Cremation Urn

Raku firing is what makes this urn look the way it does. The piece is pulled from the kiln while still glowing and cooled in open air, which crackles the glaze and leaves smoky, metallic variation across the surface. A turtle motif wraps the body. No two come out the same.

It stands eleven inches tall on a base eleven by eight inches, and it opens at the top. Ceramic at this size belongs on a shelf or a mantel indoors rather than in a niche, so measure the depth of your space before ordering. Carry it with two hands; fired ceramic is unforgiving if it is dropped.
