Western Garden Raku Keepsake

Raku firing is what gives this piece its surface: the pot leaves the kiln red hot, goes straight into combustible material, and the smoke drives into the crackling glaze. The western garden motif sits over that ground on a round body 5 inches across and 5 inches tall.

Sixty cubic inches is enough for a share of an adult's ashes when a family is dividing them between several people, or for the whole of a pet up to about 60 pounds. The lid lifts off the top for filling. Keep it inside; raku ware is porous by nature and does not hold up to weather or damp.
