Families who want a little metal on a wood urn usually end up here. The Windsor Brass in its large size is seven inches long, five deep and four tall, with brass-finished trim set against the wood rather than covering it. The effect is closer to a piece of furniture than to a memorial object.
It opens underneath, which keeps the sides and top clean. On sizing, work from body weight: roughly one cubic inch of interior per pound, so this is the size for a large dog rather than a cat or a terrier. It suits a mantel or a wide shelf. If it is going into a cabinet, measure the depth, because five inches front to back is more than some shelves allow.
