Walnut darkens with age, and this urn is finished to let that happen rather than sealing it under a heavy gloss. The grain runs across the front, so no two bodies match. It is 10 inches wide, 7.5 deep and 6.5 tall, a low box that sits below eye level on a mantel without dominating the room.

Capacity is 210 cubic inches, enough for an adult up to about 210 pounds. The base opens for filling and closes flush. Solid wood is a display material rather than a burial one, so if interment is the plan, ask about a burial container to go around it instead of putting the walnut straight into the ground.
